hello, again

The old site was WordPress on a rented machine that nobody was minding. It stopped responding and I didn’t notice for a while — which is, I think, most of what you need to know about what it was.

This one will be different on purpose. The photos live on storage I own. The writing is Markdown on disk. Music, when it comes, is linked out to wherever the record actually lives. There’s no feed to feed.

I want the friction to be in the right places — care when I make something, and almost none when I want to put it up. Beyond that I don’t have much of a thesis yet, which feels about right for the first post on a rebuilt site.
